To safely and effectively co-ordinate a show of this scale involves a team of hundreds, from Honorary Directors to cleaners, Livestock stewards to Emergency Services. The scale of this involvement requires a high degree of control. This is provided by a group of 9 people operating under the call sign of “Show Control”, all with Emergency Service backgrounds they operate a 24 hour facility to ensure control is maintained throughout.
For over 20 years, the experience and knowledge of the Show Control team combined with the equipment and technical support from DCRS has ensured the Show Control facility has evolved into an effective self sufficient co-ordination centre providing a professional service of communication control at the Show.
Simon Evans from the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show gave his comments – ‘The equipment provided by DCRS is always of a high standard, with technical support 24/7, this allows us to operate to the utmost level of professionalism, providing a first class service to the Society. Due to the vast nature of the show, and topographical challenges faced by the welsh hillsides, communications are divided between 8 channels on a MOTOTRBO digital system, and to maintain communications with out lying areas, a wide area system is installed on a farm above the showground. DCRS provided 350 + radios for the event and provided communications for all sub contractors on site, they manage a radio frequency plan to ensure all radio users have interference free radio channels.
From my 23 year experience of working with DCRS. I have great confidence in the company, especially Steve Luscombe and his team. All of whom demonstrate commitment, dedication and professionalism to providing a first class service, 24/7. The equipment is always high spec and in perfect condition. Should further equipment be required this is always delivered next day. Overall, a professional company, with a friendly approach providing a first class service’.
